CELE-PODOXIM 200MG<\/strong><\/h1>

Uses<\/h2><\/div>

This\u00a0medication\u00a0is used to treat a wide variety of\u00a0bacterial infections. This medication is known as a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for\u00a0viral infections\u00a0(such as\u00a0common cold,\u00a0flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.<\/p><\/div>

How to use CELEPODOXIM 200MG TABLETS PROXETIL<\/h3>

Take this\u00a0medication\u00a0by\u00a0mouth\u00a0as directed by your doctor, usually every 12 hours.<\/p>

If you are using the tablet form of this medication, take it with food to help increase the absorption of the drug.<\/p>

If you are using the suspension form of this medication, take it with or without food. Shake the bottle well before each dose.<\/p>

The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. In children, the dose is also based on\u00a0weight.<\/p>

Medications\u00a0which reduce or block\u00a0stomach\u00a0acid (such as proton pump inhibitors\/PPIs, H2 blockers, antacids) may reduce the absorption of\u00a0cefpodoxime, making it work less well. Ask your doctor or\u00a0pharmacist\u00a0how to use PPIs and H2 blockers safely with cefpodoxime. If you take antacids, take the antacids at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after this medication.<\/p>

For the best effect, take this antibiotic at evenly spaced times. To help you remember, take this medication at the same time(s) every day.<\/p>

Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may result in a return of the infection.<\/p>

Tell your doctor if your condition lasts or gets worse.<\/p>

Side Effects<\/h2><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>

Diarrhea,\u00a0nausea\/vomiting, or\u00a0headache\u00a0may occur. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or\u00a0pharmacist\u00a0promptly.<\/p>

Remember that this\u00a0medication\u00a0has been prescribed because your doctor has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.<\/p>

Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: nausea\/vomiting that doesn’t stop, swelling of the\u00a0ankles\/feet, tiredness, fast\/pounding heartbeat,\u00a0trouble breathing, new signs of infection (such as\u00a0sore throat\u00a0that doesn’t go away, fever),\u00a0dark urine, yellowing\u00a0eyes\/skin, easy bruising\/bleeding, signs of\u00a0kidney\u00a0problems (such as change in the amount of urine).<\/p>

Get medical help right away if you have any very serious side effects, including:\u00a0vision\u00a0changes, trouble speaking, mental\/mood changes (such as confusion).<\/p>

This medication may rarely cause a severe intestinal condition due to a bacteria called C. difficile. This condition may occur during treatment or weeks to months after treatment has stopped. Tell your doctor right away if you develop:\u00a0diarrhea\u00a0that doesn’t stop, abdominal or\u00a0stomach pain\/cramping,\u00a0blood\/mucus in your stool.<\/p>

If you have these symptoms, do not use anti-diarrhea\u00a0or\u00a0opioid\u00a0products because they may make symptoms worse.<\/p>

Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in oral\u00a0thrush\u00a0or a new\u00a0vaginal yeast infection. Contact your doctor if you notice white patches in your\u00a0mouth, a change in\u00a0vaginal discharge, or other new symptoms.<\/p>

A very serious\u00a0allergic reaction\u00a0to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious\u00a0allergic reaction, including:\u00a0rash,\u00a0itching\/swelling (especially of the face\/tongue\/throat), severe\u00a0dizziness,\u00a0trouble breathing.<\/p>

This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.<\/p>

Precautions<\/h2><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>

Before taking\u00a0cefpodoxime\u00a0proxetil, tell your doctor or\u00a0pharmacist\u00a0if you are allergic to it; or to penicillins or other cephalosporin\u00a0antibiotics\u00a0(such as\u00a0cephalexin); or if you have any other\u00a0allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.<\/p>

Before using this\u00a0medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of:\u00a0kidney disease,\u00a0stomach\/intestinal disease (such as\u00a0colitis).<\/p>

This medication may cause live bacterial\u00a0vaccines\u00a0(such as\u00a0typhoid\u00a0vaccine) to not work well. Tell your\u00a0health care\u00a0professional that you are using this medication before having any\u00a0immunizations\/vaccinations.<\/p>

Older adults may be at greater risk for side effects while using this drug.<\/p>

During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.<\/p>

This drug passes into\u00a0breast\u00a0milk and could have undesirable effects on a nursing\u00a0infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.<\/p><\/div><\/div>
